Demand for private SAT tuition in London remains high despite confusion caused by reporting of American SAT tuition studies
Tutors International, providers of private SAT tuition in London, report no drop in demand for SAT tutors following the recent SAT tuition studies in America

OXFORD, UK, July 01, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tutors International reports that media coverage of recent American studies into the efficacy and validity of SAT tuition has caused some confusion amongst parents considering private SAT tuition for their child, but has not impacted upon demand. The confusion has stemmed from one report stating that tuition for the crucial SAT exams increases the final score obtained by 30 points, whilst another report states that those 30 points, and therefore SAT exam tuition, can make a huge difference to the likelihood of acceptance into the top US universities. The American SAT exam consists of ten separate papers taken over a three hour period. "The SAT exam is very demanding, and we simply don't have any exams that are comparable for students at that age in the UK," Adam explained. "If a UK student with decent GCSE and A-level results sits the exam without any tuition, they are lucky to get a score between 1450-1550. SAT tuition can convert that to 2000, for nearly all US universities except the absolute top 'ivy league' institutions that's enough to get in. The research as has been reported recently simply doesn't reflect the impact that SAT tuition can make upon the performance of UK students trying to get into American universities."

"It's frustrating that the media isn't reporting these findings in enough detail," commented Adam Caller, founder of Tutors International. "Simply saying that SAT tuition produces an average increase of 30 points is meaningless because of the nature of the exam scoring. Increasing a score from 1410 to 1440 might not make any real difference, however, any increase, even as little as 30 points or less at the upper end of the scale, for instance from 2160 upwards can be an absolutely critical increase. That could be the difference between acceptance or rejection from one of the top universities, as the research has revealed."
