Succeed in: Math! Software Proven Effective by University Study
A recently completed independent study confirms that students who use Succeed in: Math! software are more successful when taking the Nevada High School Proficiency Exam at all grade levels than those who did not.
LAS VEGAS, NV, January 15, 2009 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The University of Nevada Las Vegas' (UNLV) Center for Business & Economic Research has completed its analysis of Interactive Technologies of Nevada's (ITN) Succeed in Math! software. The results confirm that students using the software program increase test scores over those who did not.
The results demonstrate that program use had a positive impact on test scores for all groups studied, from first time test takers (10th graders) to non-proficient seniors who had failed the math portion of the Nevada High School Proficiency Exam multiple times. The Nevada Department of Education has mandated successful completion of all portions of the Exam as requirement for high school graduation.
"It is very exciting to see all groups studied be more successful after using our math software", said Joel Rector, Director of Operations for ITN. "It is particularly encouraging to see 10th graders pass this critical exam on their first try. A higher first time pass rate not only relieves student pressure, but decreases remediation costs for schools and districts. Additionally, the analysis demonstrates that non-proficient seniors become successful, reducing dropout rates and improving student self-esteem and confidence."
A copy of the study is available for download on the ITN website.
